Guest Lodging
Few of our guests live within an hour’s drive of camp. There are a variety of options about where you can stay overnight, before or after the wedding.
Culpeper Holiday Inn Express & Suites
We have reserved a block of rooms at one of the closest hotels to camp, the Holiday
Inn Express of Culpeper. Tell them you are with the Goderre-Jones wedding and get the special rate of $129 (plus
10% tax) for a standard room. You must have made your reservation by April 29 for this rate and to use this block
of rooms. The hotel is brand new—it opened for the first time May 7.
Make your reservations by contacting Pam Jeffries at pjeffries@holidayinnexpress-culpeper.com or 540-825-7444. (If you call, be sure to
speak with Pam!)
Include the following information:
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Dates of your stay: Friday May 29 and/or Saturday May 30
- Smoking or non-smoking room, and any bed preference (king or queen, etc.)
If you make a reservation now, please send Tom an email so we can include you in the room count.
We are still working to arrange a shuttle from this hotel to camp before the ceremony, and back again afterward. Please let us know via email or telephone if you would be interested in riding on such a shuttle. (We’re basing the size of the
shuttle on the number of people who contact us, so there may not be room for you if you just show up and hope to ride it.)
Other Nearby Options
If you are going to stay someplace other than the Holiday Inn Expess, you should make your room reservation
as soon as possible! A major bluegrass festival in a nearby town (see Make It A Weekend) is
likely to fill up many local hotels.
The Madison
County Chamber of Commerce has a directory of nearby lodges, bed & breakfasts, and campgrounds if you wish to arrange independent lodging.
Culpeper also has several nice Bed & Breakfasts.
Shenandoah National Park
If you’re interested in a more fun lodge and National Park experience, and are willing to drive yourself more
than an hour along winding mountain roads to get there, see our Make It A Weekend page.
Is there room to stay at camp?
The Rapidan Camp has sleeping accommodations for only a very small portion of the number of people attending the
wedding. Some of those involved in the wedding party, setting up the site, and cleaning up afterward will be staying
at Rapidan Camp. If you have an urgent need to stay at camp (or are interested in crashing at camp after the
wedding and helping with breakdown and cleanup Sunday), please let Tom and Johanna know.
