I am an independent web architect consultant, providing services that span the development and maintenance of professional websites and web applications.

Formerly the Director of Software Engineering for a consulting company, I led a team with revenues of $2.6 million building state-of-the-art applications for enterprise-level clients. Now, I provide website services for smaller organizations. The projects are smaller, but the need to understand and solve a problem is just as critical. Many of my clients are science-oriented and non-profit organizations.

Today, the public expects every organization to have a website. If you need six unchanging pages on a website, you have many options. You could hire a web designer fresh out of college or perhaps build it yourself. But if you need a more sophisticated site, with more content or active functionality, making it happen can be a lot harder. Your IT team may not be able to dedicate itself to fully solving your problems, or maybe you don’t have an IT team.

While most technologists focus on technology, I focus on understanding your needs. Asking questions and learning about the problem to be solved—Requirements Analysis—is usually the most-overlooked part of any IT project. Before starting to build anything, the problem must be understood, sometimes in detail. And, unlike many technologists, I will take the time to discuss your needs. Your website has to accomplish your goals, and that’s where I can help.
